Business Continuity during and post a Crisis: A reality check

The toughest and probably the most important test of resilience for a business is continuity during and beyond a crisis. What does it take to weather the storm?
Here are 5 possible tests that can be applied -

Value proposition:

Business is a function of demand and supply. If our business has an inherent value proposition to customers before the crisis, can we provide the same value after the crisis? Does my customer require the same value once the crisis is over? Can we improve upon the value we were providing? If we are providing value and If our customers require the value we are providing - Why should we be worried?

Keep moving forward:

Just because we are confined does not mean our business is confined. Keep your business moving forward. Technology has a lot of solutions to offer. Where there is a will there is a way.

Pivot if needed:

If we think that our value proposition will be dead after the crisis then we need to pivot.? If not, you can decide to continue with the business like before. But if we have to pivot, do we have the bandwidth?

Identify People:

Tough times will force lot of people to show us their real face. Our customers, vendors, team members and even investors will show us a side we have never seen before. Are we able to identify who to retain and who to let go once the crisis is over?

Know Ourselves:

This is the most important of all. Being an entrepreneur is not easy. Let us use this time to know our self deeply. Meditate and introspect on what we can or cannot do. Do we have the entrepreneurial zeal to make sure business survives?

Well – It is indeed "Survival of the fittest" – These questions are good indicators to find out if we are going to let our business fade away or are, we capable of navigating the crisis and continue doing business well past the Crisis.
